Sarah’s Owl was created from a rendering of a collaged owl made by Sarah Badger during school. For many reasons, this owl has been close to our hearts and has become a common theme throughout LSG’s history. Not only was it one of Sarah’s last creations, but the owl symbolizes the heart of our mission.
During Greco-Roman times, the owl was depicted as the symbol of intelligence and wisdom. In ancient Egyptian, Celtic & Hindu cultures the symbolic meaning of the owl revolved around guardianship of the underworlds, and honored as the keeper of spirits who had passed from one plane to another.
In celebration of LilySarahGrace’s 4th Anniversary, we are inviting everyone — students, parents, teachers & supporters alike! — to use their imagination and creativity to collaborate with Sarah’s Owl and share the LSG Love.
Feel free to draw, paint, cut out, sculpt, collage, dance, act, sing, animate, travel and create whatever your heart desires with Sarah’s Owl, but please don’t forget to share it with us on social media using the #SarahsOwl and #LSG hashtags.
We will share out the images we receive and include a fact about owls so that in turn we may all learn and create together, while our LSG Family continues to grow!
